“I believe in manicures.
I believe in overdressing.
I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick.
I believe in pink.
I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner.
I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong.
I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls.
I believe that tomorrow is another day, and…I believe in miracles.”

ha! tricia…i have never worn lipstick but i will never forget the day when i was just 17 and working in a nursing home…i and three other girls decided to brighten up the place.
.with a tube of red lipstick, we went into each lady patient’s room and put the bright red lipstick on each pair of lips and for lack of rouge,, we applied the lipstick and rubbed it on to their pale cheeks…and we put little ribbons into their white hair…and my!..they looked so bright and cheerful after that and let me tell you tricia girl…THEY were happy girls[ha! not a one of them under seventy years old!].
.i will ever be thankful for the fact that your posts reminds me of so many happy memories from my youth!…do you wonder why i love you and your family soooo much!!!…love terry
I love this story, Terry! What a beautiful way to raise the confidence of such important women.
I once read about prisoners in a concentration camp who somehow received a box abundant with red lipstick. The women’s tenacity, strength, fortitude and courage all rose significantly, just from the opportunity to feel beautiful.
Amazing.
